| Grade 12 Repertoire: Assignment #4 – “Transference” Transference is the notion that something learned in one situation can be applied to another, without having to learn everything all over. Smart people, make connections between things, realizing that new things don’t have to be all that new (and confusing, as new things often are). Every time you do something new, you call upon all the experiences that you have had in order to help you understand or deal with whatever it is.
Music, besides being a source of entertainment and satisfaction, is a great learning tool, to help you in other parts of life.
In this assignment, you must explain four things that can be gained from music (they do not only need to be things you learned). Then explain how that can be used in another, non-music related way.
For example, having young children play simple musical instruments (ex. Tambourine, woodblocks) helps them in hand-eye co-ordination. This can help them in many other things (ex. Learning to write).EvaluationExplanation of something learned or gained in music and how it can be applied elsewhere: 5 x 4 = 20 MarksProper introduction and conclusion, sentence structure, grammar and spelling:10 Marks.Total: 30 Marks. | |
